Independent site
Estate Tax States is a private publication. It is not run, endorsed or paid for by the Internal Revenue Service, a state revenue department, any other government agency, a law firm, a trust company or a financial adviser.
General information, not advice
The pages describe state and federal rules and the calculators apply them to the figures you type. Nothing here is legal, tax or financial advice, or a recommendation to make a gift, create a trust, move or sign any document. The value of an estate, the deductions allowed and the law of the state decide what applies; an estate attorney or a tax professional licensed in that state can confirm it.
Liability
Rules and rates are read on official texts and the calculators are tested before each release, but rules change and errors cannot be excluded. The publisher is not liable for a decision taken on the basis of the site alone. Errors can be reported through the contact page.
Intellectual property
Texts, design and code belong to the publisher; short quotations with a link are welcome. Federal and state statutes quoted here are public.
Embedding
The estate tax calculator may be embedded for free with its credit line visible: see the embed page.
Personal data and cookies
What you type in the calculators stays in your browser. The site sets Google Analytics audience measurement cookies (_ga, _ga_SFKW262BD7, 13 months at most), with no advertising; page stability is monitored with Microsoft Clarity, cookie-free. Details, legal basis and how to object: privacy policy and cookies page.
Reporting unlawful content
Write to contact@estatetaxstates.com with the page address.
Governing law
French law applies; failing an amicable settlement, the courts of France have jurisdiction. Updated: 2026-10-19.
Results are estimates built on the 2026 thresholds and rates of each state and of the federal law, applied to the figures you type. They are not legal advice: the value of the estate, deductions, trusts, beneficiary designations and the domicile of the person who died are matters an estate attorney or a CPA has to establish for a real estate. We receive nothing from any law firm, bank or adviser.
